The objective of this study was to assess the scope of mHealth application for improving postnatal care services to improve the maternal and child health outcomes. The government should enhance uptake of PNC services through community-based strategies in recent years, the increased cell phone xv penetration has brought the potential for mHealth to improve preventable maternal and neonatal healthcare services. There was low utilization of PNC services, influenced by level of education of respondents, and lack of information regarding PNC services. Perceived good quality of care and a positive attitude were other determinants. Among them health care workers had informed 94.9 % of the respondents to attend the PNC services. Only 41.1% of the respondents were heard about PNC services through health worker, formal education and by family members. Nine-tenth (88.9%) of the respondents had own mobile phone among them two-third (66.6%) had smart mobile phone. Less than one third (30.81%) of the respondents had primary school education and majority of the women (69.5 %) had more than 2 children. Three-quarters (73.4%) of the respondents were age 20-30 years.
